SOUZA HOMERS AGAIN

'23 Nolan Souza has shown why he's projected to be a top round draft choice in this summer's MLB draft. The 6'3" LHH shortstop homered in consecutive games this week to cap off the regular season. Both being absolute TANKS to deep right field. Through 19 games this season, Nolan has batted .463 with 6 HRs 3 Triples 5 Doubles, and 16 stolen bases.

MORISAKI LEADS THE PACK

'23 Kanoa Morisaki currently stands as the Home Run leader in the state of Hawaii. 2 behind him is fellow Tiger teammate, Nolan Souza. Kanoa has been red hot lately hitting 3 Home Runs in his last 4 games. On the mound he has been dominant as well striking out 21 batters through 13 IP with a 1.58 ERA. 

TIGER PLAYERS RACKING UP THE HARDWARE

In Hawaii, you won't hear walkup songs at a high school baseball game like you would on the mainland. However, you will get to play on TV. Games are telivised by Spectrum OC16 Sports and the broadcast is led by Felipe Ojastro and Markus Owens. After each game, Impact Player of the Game awards are handed out to each participating team. So far this season, Hawaii Tigers have totaled 6 impact player of the game awards. Blade Paragas and Auakai Araujo-Waiau have won the award twice. While Jacob Villacorte and Christopher Cannon have won 1 each with their stellar performances on TV. 

Projected 1st Round Draft Pick on an absolute TEAR

'23 Nolan Souza crushed his 5th Home Run of the season with an absolute TANK to deep RF. The Arkansas Razorback signee sent the 2nd pitch of the game over the house in deep RF.  Nolan entered the season ranked as the NO. 52  MLB Draft prospect. It is reasonable to infer he has climbed up those rankings with his play this season. The generational talent is batting .480 with 5 HRs 3 Triples 5 Doubles, and 15 Stolen Bases through 18 games (6 Interleague, 12 League).

Wilson homers twice in win over GBG Pono

2022 Joey Wilson remained scorching hot at the dish, hitting two home runs in a victory over GBG Pono. He ended the day 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs. The first was a 3-Run shot to dead center. In his next at-bat he hit a solo shot to left-center. Tigers won the game 7-1. Leading the way on the mound was 2022 LHP Devin Hayashi (3.2 IP, 5 Ks, 1 ER). 

2 Tigers. 2 Triples: Saito & Flores lead Campbell offensively

Right on cue, 2022 INF Kamanui Saito smacked a triple to right field on a rainy night at Hans L'Orange field in Waipahu. A few innings later, 2022 catcher Jayden Flores followed his Tiger brother by smoking one into the right center gap. Flores also threw a runner attempting to steal 2nd. The Sabers fell short to Mililani due to a 7th inning. homerun by Anu Reis that broke the tie.  Saito was named player of the game for Campbell.

Back to Back RBIs: Souza & Ornelles put Punahou on the board

The new kids in town, Nolan Souza (2023) and Jacob Ornelles (2022),  put Punahou on the board with back to back RBIs vs Damien Memorial High School.  Both boys ended the game with 2 hits each.  When batting back to back this year, Thunder & Lighting are batting .526 (10 for 19) with 11 runs batted in and 7 runs scored.

New Kids In Town: Souza & Ornelles Both Go Yard in 1st Varsity Game

The new kids in town, Nolan Souza (2023) and Jacob Ornelles (2022), introduced themselves to the ILH Varsity baseball scene by bopping homeruns. The two were batting back to back in the lineup and combined for 2 HR, 7 RBI, and 3 runs scored in a 14-10 loss to Mid-Pacific Institute.

Jacob Ornelles: 3 for 3 (HR, 2B, BB, 3 RBI)

HT Pitching Shines in 1st Game Back

After a 7-month hiatus (due to the covid shutdown), the #HTBoyz finally took the diamond for some live game action against Hawaii Elite 2G. New pitching acquisitions helped the staff rack up 8Ks over 7 innings. 2022 RHP Kila Kaniho (Punahou) led the way with 3Ks in 2 innings. 2023 Pearl City Boys, Drew Boyles & Eli Oshiro, each tallied 2Ks while Campbell sophomore, Julius Guanio racked up 1 to end the 7th. Leading the way offensively was Arkansas Razorback commit, Nolan Souza.
