General Manager
Reid Nomura

Reid Nomura enters his 5th year as Hawaii Tigers' General Manager.


Reid is a 2011 Punahou School graduate where he lettered in football and baseball.  He was on two State baseball championship teams in 2009 and 2010.

Reid attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and in 2012 received the Golden Key International Honor Society academic award.  In 2013, he participated in the National Student Exchange Program and attended the University of Georgia where he played club baseball for the Bulldogs.  Reid graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Education degree.

In 2013, Reid finished Runner-Up for the AJA Batting Title and received All-Star honors as an outfielder representing the Sheridan AJA organization.


In 2016, Reid joined the Punahou Baseball Staff as Head Coach for the Intermediate program (2016-2022).  He also served as an Assistant Coach on the Punahou Intermediate football team (2015-2020).

From 2017-2019, Reid was the Head Coordinator for The League, a summer baseball program at Punahou School. The League was discontinued due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


In early 2019, Nomura Academy was started (dba Fundamental Sports LLC) by giving private baseball lessons and organizing baseball camps.  Hawaii Tigers was formed in 2019 with the goal of developing and showcasing the local talent to the Midwest states.


Reid is a Social Studies teacher and head of the department at Highlands Intermediate School. He also served two temporary assignments as Vice Principal. and the last two years on temporary assignment as the Vice Principal for Manana Elementary (2020-2021 SY) and Highlands Intermediate (2021-2022 SY). 


In his spare time, Reid likes to golf, surf, exercise, and play the ukulele.

Head Coach
Ron Nomura

Ron Nomura enters his 5th year as the Head Coach of the Hawaii Tigers baseball organization.


He is a 1975 graduate of McKinley High School where he lettered in football and baseball.  As a Junior, Ron won the OIA Batting Title and as a Senior was a member of the All-OIA selection team.

As a player at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1976-1979), Ron helped lead the baseball program in 1977 to their first ever AP #1 Ranking in school history.  From behind the dish, he helped lead the Bows to two NCAA Regional appearances, contributing to the Bows' longest winning streak (35 games) in program history, and Runner-Up in the College World Series.  He served as an Assistant Baseball Coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1980-1995 under Les Murakami.

Ron joined the Punahou Baseball Staff serving as an Assistant Coach with the Intermediate program from 2016-2020.


In 2019, Ron retired from the Hawaii Department of Education where he served as a Complex School Renew Specialist II in the Honolulu District.  Prior to his retirement, Ron was an instructor with the Youth Challenge Program, teacher at Ilima Intermediate School, Campbell High School, and Vice Principal at Ilima Intermediate School, Pohakea Elementary School, and Roosevelt High School.


In his spare time, Ron enjoys playing the guitar, walking, and doing yard work.

Assistant Coach
Rick Nomura

Rick Nomura enters his 5th year as an Assistant Coach with the Hawaii Tigers baseball organization.


Rick graduated from Punahou School in 2012 and lettered in football and baseball.  He was on two State baseball championship teams (2009 and 2010) and was named to the All-Tournament team in 2010, 2011, and 2012.  He received All State honors in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

He played collegiate baseball at Alvin Community College where he batted .388 in 54 games with 71 hits, 1 HR, 10 Triples, 13 Doubles, 43 RBIs, and 9 stolen bases.  Rick was named to the NCAAJC Region XIV All Conference Team.  He furthered his collegiate baseball at the University of Arkansas and was named SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, Preseason All-SEC Second Team, received the SEC Community Service Award, and was a member of Arkansas' College World Series team in 2015.  In 111 games for the Hogs, Rick tallied up 8 HR, 25 Doubles, 48 RBIs, and 29 Multi-Hit games.

While earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in 2017, Rick served as a graduate assistant under Dave Van Horn and worked closely with then pitching coach, Wes Johnson, who later became the Minnesota Twins pitching coach, and currently the pitching coach for LSU. 


Upon graduation, Rick joined and began his insurance career at NFP Insurance in their Las Vegas office.  Today he is an independent insurance agent with Finance Insurance. 


In his spare time, Rick enjoys golfing, surfing, playing music, and spending time with family and friends.
