Morisaki Clubs his 5th HR.. Leads the State

Approximately 2,551 miles away from his hometown of Westchester, California, Kanoa Morisaki continues to add new chapters to the odyssey he set out on back in 2021. His aspirations to finish up high school in the state his father cherished so much drove him to move to Hawaii and attend Kaiser High School for his Junior and Senior year. He also got linked up with Hawaii Tigers through a DM message he sent. "At the time we were looking for another pitcher for our upcoming Ohio Trip." General Manager, Reid Nomura recalled. "Kanoa sent some video and I remember us (Coach Ron & Coach Rick) putting it up on the TV in our house watching it together. He had a loose arm and was a switching hitting infielder so we decided to extend the invite for him to join us for a 16U Tournament at CORP."

Kanoa made an immediate splash on the Hawaii baseball scene when he smashed a triple to deep RF and shoved a CG while racking up 4 Ks, helping Hawaii Tigers to a 4-2 victory over Hawaii Elite and into the semifinals of the tournament. Kanoa continued to work on his power swing by attneding Waipahu Wednesdays and Sunday Night Baseball with Nomura Academy. He traveled with the Hawaii Tigers to Ohio to face 90+ mph pitching.

Fast forward to April 2023 and Kanoa Morisaki currently stands as the Home Run leader in the state of Hawaii after crushing one to deep CF vs Farrington High School. 1 behind him is fellow Tiger teammate, Nolan Souza. Kanoa has been red hot lately hitting 3 Home Runs in his last 4 games. On the mound he has been dominant as well striking out 21 batters through 13 IP with a 1.58 ERA.
